Lottie G. Johnson was born on February 20, 1921 in Nehawka, Nebraska to E. Eugene and Josephine (Knabe) Fitch. She passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at the Ambassador Care Center in Nebraska City, Nebraska at the age of 89 years, 11 months and 3 days. A lifetime resident of Nehawka, Lottie graduated from Nehawka High School at the age of 16. She was united in marriage to Julian C. Johnson on June 15, 1940 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska and together they raised three children, Bill, Julia and B.A. The Johnson’s made their home in Nehawka and together farmed for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #157 of Nehawka, longtime member of the Rebekah Lodge and Extension Club. She enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables, making pies, baking and crocheting, and most of all her family. Lottie is survived by her: Son: Bill Johnson and wife Joyce of Murray, NE; Daughters: Julia Shelby and husband Bill of Spokane, WA; B.A. Fisser and husband Don of Lincoln, NE. 7 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren; Sister: Josephine Yearsley of Syracuse, NE. Also survived by other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Julian (June 14, 1971), granddaughter Kris Johnson, great grandson, T.J. Booth, Brother Elmer Fitch and son-in-law, John Jorgensen. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Plattsmouth with Rev. Jeff McDonald officiating. Visitation will be Friday, January 28, 2011 from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Nehawka, Nebraska. Memorials may be directed to the Murray Presbyterian Church and/or the Nehawka Methodist Church.
