Marie D Zuccarini

Marie Deloris Zuccarini age 93 of Plattsmouth passed away surrounded by family at CHI- Midlands Hospital in Papillion, Nebraska on Thursday, September 28, 2017.  She was born on April 19, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York to John and Josephine (DeLuca) Gannatti.  Marie was raised and graduated from school in Brooklyn.  She was united in marriage to her High School Sweetheart, John Zuccarini on August 26, 1944 in Brooklyn.  John left a few months later to serve his country during World War II.  After his return, the two made their home on Long Island and raised their three children, Margherite, Joanne and Al.  Marie worked as a nursing assistant for many years.  She also did a lot of work with designing and sewing draperies and slip covers for various people throughout the years.  She was a fabulous cook and enjoyed finding new recipes to share with her family and friends.  Marie was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth, where she volunteered for many years.  She was devoted to lighting candles at the church each month for friends and family that had passed away.  She found great joy in the time she was able to spend with her two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is survived by her children Margherite Schoepfer and Joanne (George) Swarbrick all of Plattsmouth, NE, grandchildren, Nicole Marie Zuccarini and Corinne (Stephen) Henry, great grandchildren, Stephen and Jaxson Henry, brothers, Joseph Gannatti and Anthony Gannatti.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Zuccarini, son Al Zuccarini and son-in-law Bob Schoepfer, two sisters and a brother.     Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth, NE with Father Michael Houlihan officiating.  Visitation will be Friday, October 6, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
