Marilyn "Kay" Roueche-Adkins

Marilyn “Kay” Roueche-Adkins, age 56 of Plattsmouth, passed away June 9, 2014 at Bergan-Mercy Hospital in Omaha, NE She was born April 16, 1958 in Sutherland, NE to Peter J. and Goldene (Bowen) Roueche. She attended and graduated from Hershey High School. Kay enjoyed the outdoors which lead to her become a Heavy Equipment Operator. She joined Operating-Engineers Local # 571. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the Plattsmouth Boat Club. On March 12, 1998 she married John Adkins in Las Vegas, NV. Together they enjoyed drinking beer, NASCAR racing and trips to Florida. Kay organized group outings to the Avoca Quack-Off and tanking trips down the Elkhorn River. She loved to go to the State Fair, Farmers Markets, Flea Markets and shopping with John. Her love for people and dogs will always be remembered. Kay was also involved in Relay for Life as a team captain. This cause was very close to her. She is survived by her husband John of Plattsmouth, step-sons: Rick “Ape” and Rodney Adkins of Plattsmouth and Randy Adkins of Nebraska City, NE; Grandchildren: Allen, Ryan and Jenni; 3 great-grandchildren. Her mother Goldie Roueche of Hershey, NE; sisters: Shirley Krueger – Thornton, CO and Betty Gedrose – Sleepy Eye, MN.; 4 Nieces, 1 Nephew and several great nieces and nephews. Kay is preceded in death by her father Peter J. Roueche. Visitation will be held Friday, June 13, 2014 with the family from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Harvey Funeral Home. The Memorial Service will be Saturday, June 14, 2014 11:00 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Plattsmouth, NE. with Rev. Carl Anderson officiating and Carol Wehrbein providing the music.
