Marlys Lee Wehrbein passed away on July 17, 2025. She was born December 26, 1941, in Winnebago, MN to Elmo and Maxine (Hiatt) Lane.

Marlys' family moved to Plattsmouth, NE when she was in the 11th grade and she graduated from Plattsmouth High School in 1959. From there she continued her education by attending Commercial Extension School of Commerce in Omaha. Upon completion she worked as a secretary for three years for Armour & Company. She married her high school sweetheart, Dan Wehrbein and was married to him for 63 years. To this union two sons were born, Scott and Craig.

Marlys loved being a farm wife, mother and grandmother. During their early years Dan and Marlys liked going to Colorado skiing with their boys and friends. And then later they vacationed all over.

After her boys were grown Marlys went to work for Steve Rishel CPA, later known as Rishel & Pfeifer CPA. She found joy working there for 20 years with meeting and making many friends through the clients who frequented the office.

Marlys loved to play games and met with a special group of ladies playing “tiles” every week. Another great love of Marlys' is her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her church family at Plattsmouth Bible Church. She became a believer through the ministry of FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) and the mentoring of close friends. She was involved in several Bible studies hosting many of them in her home. She experienced God's goodness and His faithfulness throughout her life.

Marlys is survived by her husband, Dan, sons Scott (Kimberly) and Craig (Tina). Five grandchildren, Joshua (Mairin), Caleb, Sophia, Benjamin and Charlie; great granddaughter, Vivian. Sister and brother-in-law Valerie and Denny Kennedy. Brothers and sisters-in-laws, Roger Wehrbein, Ted & Carol Wehrbein, Steve & Marlene Wehrbein and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Jeanene Wehrbein.
