Marvin "Marv" J. Kaus

Marvin "Marv" Kaus passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025. He was 69 years old. Marv was born to Alfred "Fritz" and Coila (Hemeyer) Kaus on April 10, 1956. Marv was the middle child of 7.

Marv graduated from Stickney High School with the class of 74. After graduation Marv attended culinary school at Mitchell Vo Tech. Upon graduation he worked in a restaurant in Boston. From there he moved back to Rapid City, SD and work in different food places. He then moved to Napa Valley, California where he worked as a housekeeper and caretaker for a vineyard owner until her death. He then moved to Tucson, Arizona, there he was a caregiver to 2 wonderful ladies until their death. He then became a CNA for the state of Arizona. He retired from that at the age of 65 and moved to Plattsmouth, NE to live with his sister. He remained there until his death. Marv always loved to cook, gardening, spending time with family and going to the casino.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred & Coila Kaus, his younger brother Calvin, his nephew Sean Royalty and a dear friend Tom.

He is survived by his brother Paul (Linda) Kaus, Joe (Wanda) Kaus, Dennis Kaus, and sisters Rita Lantz and Marlene Wood as well as many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be in Mitchell, South Dakota at a later date.
