Mary Frances Ambrose, age 71 of Plattsmouth passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, at the Bellevue Medical Center. Born on May 19, 1955, in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of the late Frank and Lillian (Stenka) Ambrose. 

Mary was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Grand Island, Class of 1973. She furthered her education by attending business school for one year, which laid the foundation for her successful career in bookkeeping. Mary dedicated 15 years to the banking industry, followed by over 20 years at a computer processing center.

Her faith was a guiding principle throughout her life. After moving to the Prestige Care Center in Plattsmouth, she regularly attended the Church of the Holy Spirit. Mary served as the Vice President of the Resident Council at Prestige for many years, demonstrating her passion for service and community involvement.Mary was known for her warmth and kindness; she did not know a stranger. Her generous heart led her to seek ways to give back to others-whether through sending cards for special occasions, treating someone to a meal, or simply paying a visit. She found joy in animals, music, crafting, calling bingo, and sharing her love with children, particularly evident during Halloween when she delighted in handing out candy. 

Mary Frances Ambrose is survived by family and a wide circle of friends who will carry her spirit forward.

Funeral services will be held at Brian P. Harvey Funeral Home on May 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. with Father Sean Timmerman officiating.  A visitation will precede the service starting at 9:00 a.m. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the HAPPY Paws in Plattsmouth.
