Mary L. Beadleson age 89 of Plattsmouth, NE was born on January 15, 1931 in Whitelake, South Dakota to Lee and Flossie (Roberts) Coffin.  She passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Ridgecrest Care Center in Omaha, NE.

After graduating from High School, Mary enlisted in the United States Air Force serving from 1952 until 1955.  Upon being discharged she worked in a variety of jobs including teaching High School English in Omaha Public Schools, working a variety of office jobs and finally working at Union Pacific Railroad retiring in 1986.  During this time, she also obtained both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Nebraska Omaha.

Throughout her life, she was an avid reader and writer including authoring two books.  As a high school student, she was able to interview Lawrence Welk for a story in her high school paper.  She also enjoyed traveling, watching old movies, and was an avid sports fan.  As a recovering alcoholic, she faithfully attended AA meetings and was proud of her 40 years of sobriety.

She is survived by her son, John (Terri) Beadleson of Plattsmouth, NE, daughter, Patricia Dodson of Omaha, NE, grandchildren, Sarah, Rachael, Hanah & Tom Dodson and Johnathan Beadleson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Michael Taggart, sisters, Maxine Bandlow, Mardell Alt and Rowine Franz, brothers, Jake and Darrel Coffin.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov 1 ^st from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home with family greeting friends. (Masks & Social Distancing required).

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Nov 2 ^nd at 10:30 AM at First United Methodist Church, Plattsmouth, NE (Masks & Social Distancing required).

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, Nov 3 ^rd at 10:00 AM at the Omaha National Cemetery (Hwy 50 & Schram Road).

Memorials may be directed to Alcoholics Anonymous or First United Methodist Church
