Mary D Blackwell

Mary D. Blackwell age 55 of Murray, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at her home near Murray.  She was born in Orlando, Florida on April 9, 1967, to Dean and Clara Dale (Porter) Hoy.

The family eventually moved to the Murray area and Mary graduated from Conestoga High School.  She worked as the Office Manager for Independent Auto in Plattsmouth for more than 20 years.  She was united in marriage to Larry Blackwell on March 8, 2010, in Plattsmouth.

Mary had a heart for animals which could be witnessed by her dogs and cats.  She also was always willing to help people in need, going above and beyond to make sure people were cared for in various ways.  She enjoyed moments shared with her husband, children, and grandson Victor.  She was active with 4H and horses and enjoyed riding around the area on the motorcycle.

She is survived by husband Larry (Murray), children: Richard (Rebecca) Hoy – Omaha, grandson Victor Hoy of Omaha, Johnnathan Hoy of Houston, TX, father Dean Hoy of Ft. Meyers, Florida, Brother Matt (Kimberli) Hoy of St. Lake City, UT, Willie (Melanie) Hoy of Omaha, NE, Step-sister Michelle (Tony) of St. Louis, MO, half-sister Deana (Chris) Brumfield of Colorado Springs, CO, step son David Blackwell, Anthony Blackwell, and many aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, her stepdad Richard Henry, her stepbrother J.J.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be Thursday, September 1, 2022, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM (family will be present) at Harvey Funeral Home, Plattsmouth.  Casual Attire requested.
