Mary M. Cowles

Mary M. Cowles was born on November 3, 1923 in Columbus, Nebraska to Louis J. and Lorena R. (Prieb) Marohn. She passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Nebraska Masonic Home in Plattsmouth, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, 2 months and 6 days. Mary grew up in Columbus, Nebraska and graduated from High School there. She continued her education at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln graduating in 1949. She worked in several secretarial jobs throughout her life, but greatest job was taking care of her husband and daughter. She enjoyed reading, walking, going to the movies and especially spending time with her family. She is survived by her Husband, H. Dean Cowles, Plattsmouth, NE; Daughter, Anne (Bruce) Hinton, Wellington, FL; Grandson, Steven (Courtney) Hinton, Greenacres, FL, Granddaughter, Kathryn (Fiancé Robert Jones) Hinton, Wellington, FL; Sister, Carol Iwohn, Columbus, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Lorena Marohn. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. – Church of the Holy Spirit, 1305 Thomas Drive, Bellevue, NE. Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, January 14th at 4:30 P.M. – Nebraska Masonic Home Chapel, 1300 Ave D. Plattsmouth, NE. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha, Nebraska.
