Matthew C Smith

Matthew C. Smith age 32 of Bellevue formerly of Plattsmouth, NE was born on September 19, 1986 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska.  He was the son of Denny and the late Audrey Smith.  Matthew passed away in Omaha, Nebraska on Friday, June 28, 2019.

Matthew was raised in Plattsmouth and graduated from Plattsmouth High School in 2005.  He attended classes for a time at Metro Community College.  He worked in the Construction business for many years.  Matt was a talented artist and loved working with different types of woods and metals to create his art.  While growing up he was a member of the Triple B 4H Club showing hogs and cattle at local fairs.  He loved his family and had a special love for his dogs.

Matt is surivived by his son, Parker Smith and his mother Kristina Callabro,  Plattsmouth, NE, father Denny Smith, Plattsmouth, NE, fiancé, Kelly Mixan and her daughter Kenley of Bellevue, NE, grandmother, Marian Smith of Avoca, IA.  Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Smith, grandparents, Eugene Smith, Chris & Nora Blum, several aunts & uncles.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 10:00 AM, Church of the Holy Spirit, Plattsmouth, NE wih Father Michael Houlihan officiating.

Visitation, Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM with family present from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.

B urial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to establish and education fund for Parker Smith (Matt's Son) at Plattsmouth State Bank or Nebraska Children's Home.
