Melissa Ann Kallsen

Melissa Ann Kallsen age 36 of Plattsmouth passed away peacefully at her home in Plattsmouth, Nebraska on Monday, August 3, 2020.  She was born on August 25, 1983 in Oshkosh, Nebraska to Walter W. and Kay L. (Bieber) Kallsen.

After graduating from High School, Melissa attended Doane University where she earned her bachelor’s degree.  She quickly entered the workforce in Human Resources.  She was a highly motivated and goal-oriented employee which led her to be a highly sought-after Human Resources Manager.  At the time of her passing, she worked for Owen Industries as a Senior Human Resource Manager.  She had been recognized throughout the State as an outstanding professional woman in manufacturing.

Melissa met Christopher Nelson and together they made their home in Plattsmouth.  They shared a deep love for one another, and Chris faithfully cared for her throughout her illness.  They enjoyed riding Harley’s together, cherry dilly bars, spending rainy days watching TV, attending Tasting Events, knitting, and their dogs.

A gathering to celebrate Melissa’s life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM at DC’s Waterhole in Plattsmouth, Nebraska

Memorials may be directed to Chris Nelson for future designation to the non-profit “Mel&Me” to help families going through the GBM Journey and to further research the disease.
