Meredith A Grove

Meredith Ann Grove was born on July 14, 1930 in Auburn, Nebraska to Melvin and Estele (Green) Shroyer. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at her home in Plattsmouth, Nebraska at the age of 84 yrs, 11 months, 11 days. Meredith was raised in the Auburn area and graduated from Bratton-Union School near Humbolt. She later attended nursing school and worked for many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was united in marriage to Donald L. Grove on June 12, 1949 in the Pleasant View Church near Humbolt, Nebraska. Together they raised three daughters, Donna, Sharon and Barbara. She was very active in the First United Methodist Church where she sang with the Church Choir and was a member of the United Methodist Women’s group. Outside of Church, she was a member of the Beaver Lake Ladies Auxiliary, she enjoyed gardening, playing cards and playing the piano. Meredith is survived by her husband of 65 years, Donald L. Grove of Plattsmouth, NE, daughters, Donna Johnsen and husband Bob of Fallbrook, CA; Sharon Thompson and husband Reggie of Plattsmouth, NE; Barbara Molck and husband Steve of Plattsmouth 20 Grandchildren Christian & Robyn Thiede, Matthew & Heidi Thompson, Steffani & Jason Mydland, Missy Thiede, Abby Voyles & Dennis Cheng, Shad & Jenn Molck, Priscilla & Jon Paul Cardenas, Carey & Evan VonQualen, Lucas Johnsen, Julie & Tom Deppe, Marie & Josh Schmidt, 23 Great Grandchildren, Brothers-in-law, Richard Stanley, Ken & Mary Grove, Wayne & Eileen Grove, Sister-in-law June & Ray Bartels. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Melvin & Estele Shroyer, Brother, Conrad Shroyer, Sister, Melva Jean Stanleyand Mother/Father-in-law, Allen & Fern Grove Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Plattsmouth, NE with Rev. Debra McKnight officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Pallbearers include, Steve Molck, Reggie Thompson, Christian Thiede, Tom Deppe, Evan VonQualen, Dennis Cheng, Josh Schmidt. Honorary Pallbeares include, Bob & Lucas Johnsen. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church. Brian P.
