Michael "Mike" L Hodge

Michael Lee "Mike"  Hodge, age 67 of Plattsmouth passed away peacefully on Friday, May 16th, 2025, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.  Mike was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on  May 10th, 1958 to Merlyn Lee and Elna Marie (Bomberg) Hodge.

A 1977 graduate of Plattsmouth High School, Michael went on to pursue a  career as a scriptwriter for Travel and Transport Company and ultimately retired as a Conductor  with Burlington Northern Railroad.  Mike was a man of strong faith and a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was fishing, hiking, or sharing laughter with friends. His love for music was well-known, and his charismatic, soulful, and philosophical nature made him larger than life. Mike's presence was a blessing to all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed.

Mike is survived by his loving children, Jenny (Chad) Wergin of Elkhorn, NE and Melissa (Jeff) Bowman of Slidell, LA. He was a proud grandfather to Colton and Van Wergin of Elkhorn, NE, and Boston, Kingston, and Reign of Slidell, LA. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Merlyn and Elna Hodge and hisbeloved wife, Andi Hodge.

A memorial service to celebrate Mike's life will be held at Brian P. Harvey Funeral Home in Plattsmouth, NE, on Friday, May 23rd, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A Visitation will be Thursday, May 22nd from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with family greeting friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
