Michael Antony Brian Nelson

Michael Antony Brian Nelson, age 23, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on December 4, 2023. He was born on August 9, 2000, in Omaha, Nebraska, to his mother Amy Louise Nelson.

A big teddy bear at heart, Michael had a soft spot for family and spending quality time with his loved ones. In addition to family time, he also enjoyed playing video games. His warmth and affectionate nature endeared him to those around him, leaving cherished memories for family and friends.  His love for animals led him to volunteer at the Humane Society in Council Bluffs.

Michael was excited to start the Vet Tech program at Iowa Western Community College in January.

Surviving him are his grandmother, Tamala Miller, siblings, Josh (Chris) Brandenburg, Tommy Brandenburg, Lily Schreiner, great grandmother, Karen Nelson, great aunt, Patty Siragusa, birth mother, Amy Nelson, aunts & uncles, William (Jennifer) Miller, Alyse Manyimo, and Alex (Erica) Keller. He is also survived by numerous cousins and great aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lori Brandenburg, and great grandfather, William Nelson.

A funeral service for Michael will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at the Brian P. Harvey Funeral Home Chapel in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9 – 11 AM at the funeral home.  Burial will be held at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth.

The family requests donations be made to the Humane Society in Council Bluffs, reflecting Michael's passion for animals.
