Michael Stephen O'Bryan

Michael S. O’Bryan passed away on October 25, 2023, in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 75. He was born December 20, 1947, in Bellevue, Nebraska, to his parents Coleman and Ellen (Winters) O’Bryan.

Michael's life was marked by a strong sense of duty and service. He graduated from Plattsmouth High School in 1965 and went on to dedicate 20 years of his life to the United States Army and Army Reserves. His service included overseas deployment to Iraq in 2004. After his retirement from the Army, Michael worked as a Safety Manager at Kiewit Construction for 8 years.

On June 28, 1985, he married Denise Dvorak in a ceremony at the First Christian Church in Plattsmouth.

Michael was an active member of the Plattsmouth Eagles Club and V.F.W #2543. He and Denise cherished their time spent outdoors, enjoying activities such as camping and fishing.

He is survived by his wife Denise O’Bryan of Plattsmouth, his daughters Laura (Monte) Meyers of Kearney and Colleen (Scott) Pribyl of Papillion, his grandchildren Tara and Emma Meyers and Sam Pribyl, a great-grandchild, Brinn Meyers, his brother Lesley Ray (Pat) O’Bryan of Deerfield Beach, Florida, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Robert Morgan.

A celebration of Michael's life will be held at the Plattsmouth V.F.W #2543, with burial taking place at the Omaha National Cemetery in the spring. The family requests that memorial donations be directed to the Wounded Warriors Project.
