Myron C Hopp

Myron C. Hopp was born on May 15, 1932 in the family home in Otoe County, Nebraska to Elmer and Mildred (Richter) Hopp. He passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 18 days. He was raised and attended school in Cook, Nebraska. After graduating from High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy serving during the Korean War. Myron was united in marriage to Carolyn J. Luttman at the Methodist Church in Springfield, Nebraska on June 2, 1957. They made their home in Beatrice, Nebraska where Myron worked as a Airplane Mechanic for Engels Aircraft. He later purchased the business and changed the name to Hopp’s Aircraft Repair. He was a member of the Flying Conestoga’s, LaPlatte Community Church and the American Legion and V.F.W. organizations in Beatrice, Nebraska. Myron greatly enjoyed tinkering on many projects around his home. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hopp of Bellevue, NE; children, Kevin Hopp and wife Dr. Merrell Magelli of Papillion, NE; Karla Day and husband Scott of St. Charles, IA; grandchildren, Emily Hopp, Jarrett & Kale Day, sister, Bernice Noerrlinger of Cook, NE; special friends, Marsha, Lori & Olivia Graesser of Bellevue, NE; exchange students, Jose` de Barros & Family of Vitoria, Brazil; Rita Sarnes & Family of Oslo, Norway. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the LaPlatte Community Church in LaPlatte, Nebraska with Pastor Stuart Yoder officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 with Family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday August 7th at 3:00 P.M. at St. Paul’s UCC (Osage) Cemetery - Cook, NE with Rev. Curtis Reiger officiating.
