Norma L Wiles

Norma Lea Peterson Wiles, 92, of Plattsmouth, Nebraska died August 16, 2023, at the Louisville Care Community in Louisville, Nebraska. Norma was born on February 14, 1931 in Westboro, Missouri to Melvin W. & Thelma I. (Mattes) Peterson.  Norma attended and graduated from Northboro Iowa High School in 1949.  Norma was an avid basketball player in high school and was on the 1949 Iowa All State Girls Basketball Team.  She married Emerson Wiles on April 11, 1970 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska.  Norma was a true Farmer’s Wife performing many different tasks.  She drove a pickup, a straight truck and a tractor.  Norma could bottle feed a calf, and sort and treat cattle as good as any man could.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents, brother Don Peterson, brother-in-law Thomas Smith, and sister-in-law Elsie Peterson.  Survived by husband Emerson Wiles, sons Michael Macrander (Sharon) of Murray, Nebraska, and Marty Macrander (Diane) of Union, Nebraska, daughters Cindy Wohlfarth (Alan) and Roxanne Holler-Wiles (Sundae) of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, grandchildren Angela Hogue (Bobby) of Murray, Nebraska, Tim Macrander (Amy), Maquel Schippert (Andrew), Chaz Macrander (Kelly) all of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, Alison Burns (Matt) of Papillion, Nebraska, Ashley Macrander of Omaha, Nebraska, Isaac and Elaine Wiles of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, great grandchildren Dawson and Isabella Hogue of Murray, Nebraska, Axel and Greta Schippert, Cash and Drake Macrander, Emily and Luke Macrander all of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, and Liliana and Logan Burns of Papillion, Nebraska.  Norma is also survived by her sister Mary Smith of El Cajon, California, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that any memorials be made to the Louisville Care Center, Louisville, NE or Hillcrest Hospice Care, Bellevue, NE.
