Norman L. Rishel age 83, was born August 20, 1937 in Lewistown, PA to Norman Earl and Gladys Pauline (Gutelius) Rishel.  He passed away on  Tuesday, March 16, 2021 in Louisville, NE.

Norman grew up in Lewistown and at a young age went to work for the Lewistown Candy Company.  He met and was united in marriage to Karen Kay Swanger on June 15, 1963 in Yeagertown, PA together they raised three children, Douglas, Karrie and Daniel.  While living in Pennsylvania he worked for the American Viscose Company and later transferred with Avtex Fibers Corp to Front Royal, Virginia.  He served for 26 years in the Lewistown Volunteer Fire Department.

He and Kay eventually retired to Florida where he worked for Circle K, Joel and Jerrie's Drug Store and was a driver for Filter, Inc.   He enjoyed bowling and fishing.  Two years ago they moved to Plattsmouth, Nebraska to be closer to family.

He is survived by his wife Kay of Louisville, NE, Children:  Douglas (April) Rishel of Plattsmouth, NE, Karrie Grigsby, Front Royal, VA, and Daniel (Liz) Rishel of Front Royal, VA; Grandchildren: Erin (Brian) Marple, Mallory (Jason) Lawrence, Jonathan Grigsby, Kayla Grigsby, Jessie (Tyler) Powell and Daniel Rishel; Great Grandchildren: Brady, Dylan, and Greyson Marple, and Jackson Ashby, Siblings: Elizabeth Ganoe of Lewistown, PA, and  Joe (Diane) Rishel of Knoxville, TN;

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Siblings Nancy Dawson, Judy Barger, Howard “Rick” Rishel, and Jack E Rishel.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Plattsmouth, NE.  Livestreaming will be on the Funeral Home Facebook Page.

Memorial may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project.
