Patsy Ruth Nelsen age 83 of Plattsmouth passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023 at the Hillcrest Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bellevue, Nebraska.  She was born on October 30, 1939 in Conway, Missouri to Frank & Alice (VanBuskirk) Gourley.

Pat graduated from High School in Tekamah, Nebraska in 1957.  She was united in marriage to Larry Nelsen on January 7, 1961 in Ralston, Nebraska.  Together they raised two daughters, Martha and September.  They made their home in Plattsmouth in 1970 and she worked in several places before becoming the Produce Manager at Jack & Jill  Grocery Store for many years.

She was a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church in Plattsmouth where she served as both and usher and greeter.  She was a member of the Plattsmouth Garden Club and held the office of President.  In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, gardening, canning, puzzles of all kinds and going for motorcycle rides with Larry.

Pat is survived by her husband Larry Nelsen of Plattsmouth, NE; children, Martha (Tim) Neumann of Louisville, NE, September (Ron O’Neill) Nelsen of Omaha, NE, grandchildren, Melissa, Jake and Luke Neumann, brother, Frank Gourley of Kenesaw, NE, sisters, Shirley (Loy) Nissen of Oakland, NE, Sharon Glen of Garland, TX, Alice “Jo” Uhing of Tekamah, NE.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in Death by parents, Frank & Alice Gourley, brothers, Lyle, Ronald and Donald Gourley, sister, Elsie Roth.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 10:30 AM at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Ryan Maser officiating.  Visitation will be one hour before services at the Church.

Burial will be in the Omaha National Cemetery, Omaha, Nebraska.

Memorials may be directed to the First Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
