Pauline "Kate" Rieke

Pauline Catherine “Kate” Rieke was born on May 1, 1940 in Norborne, Missouri to James H. and Alice E. (Waters) Workman. She passed away surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at her home in Plattsmouth, Nebraska at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 3 days. Kate’s family made their home in Louisville, Nebraska where she graduated from Louisville High School. She was united in marriage to Lowell Rieke on October 25, 1963 at the Murray Presbyterian Church in Murray, Nebraska and together they raised three children, Mark, Roger and Cathy. She worked as a Dental Assistant and Receptionist for several years and also as a Nail Tech. Her greatest love was her devotion to her family as a housewife, mother and caretaker. Throughout the years, she enjoyed square dancing and playing golf. She loved to work on sewing projects or crafting jewelry and making different types of artwork. She also enjoyed traveling with Lowell on business and bowling trips or going to spend time with her sister Jean in Illinois. She is survived by her Children, Mark Rieke and fiancé Kristi of Gretna, NE: Roger Rieke and wife Sherri of Bellevue, NE; Cathy McGraw and husband Buck of Plattsmouth, NE, Grandchildren, Brandon & Summer Rieke, Michael Rieke, Dawn & Jason Jones, Brody & Danyale Rieke, Julie Rieke & Kevin Stricklett, Linda & Shane Long, Shelby McGraw, Jordan McGraw and Sheldon Gilkerson, Bryce McGraw and Bre Marcoe, Great Grandchildren, Paige, Peyton, Eleanor & Tanner Nietfeld, Zachary, Joseph & Jacob Rieke, Jaxson, Cash Jones, London, Lincoln and expected baby Urban Rieke, Aiden McGraw, Sister, Jean Sutton and husband Bill of Monmouth, IL; Brothers, Bill Workman and wife Bernice of Arizona, Dan Workman and wife Ruth of La Vista, NE. Kate is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Alice Workman and husband, Lowell Rieke. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Harvey Funeral Home in Plattsmouth, NE with Rev. Carl Anderson officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 7th from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
