Peter Edward Perkolup, age 78, of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the Bellevue Medical Center.  He was born May 13, 1944, in Cass, Pennsylvania, to Peter and Edna (Alban) Perkolup.

Peter attended primary school at St. Pius and graduated from Willowbrook High School in Willowbrook, Illinois.  He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.  Following his discharge from the Navy, he worked in retail management for the majority of his career in such places as JoAnn’s, Big Lots, Franks Finer Foods, National Food Stores and Marvin’s Home Center.  He met Janet Watts, the two courted for a time before marrying on May 5, 1990 in Huntsville, Alabama.

Since moving to Plattsmouth, he joined First Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed creating woodworking projects and tinkering with his model H.O Trains.

He is survived by his daughters, Leslie (Dewayne) Webb of Plattsmouth and Pamela (Chris) Tritt of Elgin, IL, sons, Greg (Shelly) Perkolup of Sun Prairie, WI and Alex (finance’ Ana) Perkolup of Chicago, IL, 4 grandchildren: Haley Webb, Emma–Kate Webb, Helen Perkolup, Will Perkolup, nephew Dave Kwit of Huntsville, AL and his 3 beloved cats, Jake, Scooter, and Little one

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janet Perkolup, Sister, Joann Kwit brother, David Perkolup

Visitation will be Monday, February 27, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM with family greeting friends at the Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Peter will be Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 10:30 AM at the Harvey Funeral Home in Plattsmouth, with Rev. Ryan Maser officiating. (The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home’s Facebook page.)

Burial will follow the Funeral Service at 1:30 PM at the Omaha National Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Navy.

Memorials in Lieu of Flowers may be directed to the DAV or Happy Paws.
