Raef Gregary Stolp
October 28, 2002 – March 8, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raef Gregary Stolp on March 8, 2025, at the age of 22. Raef was born on October 28, 2002, and was a beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend to all who knew him. His kind heart, infectious smile, and love for life will be deeply missed.
Raef is survived by his loving parents, Jennifer and Gregory Stolp; his sister, Allayna (Mike) Goodwin; his brothers, Payton (Emily) and Brody (Reagan Thompson); his niece, Eleanor; his grandmother, Lynda Chartier; his grandfather, Gary Stolp; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were fortunate enough to know him. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Allan Chartier, and his grandmother, Corinne Stolp.
Raef had a passion for life that shone through in everything he did. As a child, he developed an early love for dinosaurs, Star Wars, and Legos, building some of the most intricate and large creations known in the Lego world. He carried this passion throughout his life, always seeking out new challenges and projects.
Sports were another love of Raef’s, and he enjoyed both playing and watching them. He played sports in his youth, but his battle with illness shifted his focus to being a dedicated fan. Raef could always be found cheering on the Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets, Nebraska Football, and Kansas Basketball, often sharing his excitement with friends and family.
Raef worked for several years at Hy-Vee in the meat department, where he made some of his closest friendships. His coworkers fondly remember him for his work ethic, smile, and the joy he brought to the team.
One of Raef’s most cherished pastimes was fishing with friends on local lakes around Omaha as well as with his grandfather, Gary, in South Dakota. Although illness prevented him from getting out on the boat as often as he’d liked, Raef always found peace and joy on the lake, where he created lasting memories with his family and friends.
Raef's greatest joy in life, however, was his niece, Eleanor. She was the light of his life, and their bond was truly special. Raef adored spending time with her, especially reading to her, and it was her laughter and love that brought him immense happiness during difficult times.
Raef's spirit was undeniable—always full of joy, kindness, and love. He fought his battles with courage and never lost his warmth or humor. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who cared and loved him, and his legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will never be forgotten.
A visitation will be held at The Water’s Edge Church, 19600 Harrison Street, Gretna, NE 68028, on Monday, March 24th, from 4:00 to 7:00, with a celebration of Raef’s life being held on Tuesday, March 25th at 10:30 with a lunch to follow. The service will be streamed at www.youtube.com/weomaha. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family, who will distribute them to the charities and organizations that were important to Raef.
Rest in peace, Raef. You will forever be loved and missed.
