Ralph O. Major

Ralph O. Major. age 63 of Plattsmouth, NE. He was born July 20, 1951 and passed away Nov. 3, 2014. He was preceded in death by his father Orval Major and Step father Robert Tschirren. He is survived by his wife Cathy of Plattsmouth, NE.; Mother: Ethel Tschirren of Plattsmouth, NE and Step Mother: Jenny Major of Springfield, MO; brother Alfred (Sue) Major of Plattsmouth, NE and sisters Joann Peterson of Plattsmouth, NE, Violet “Tony” (John) Johnson of Bellevue, NE and Carol Meyer of Omaha, NE; brothers and sisters-in-law: Butch (Deb) Clark of Plattsmouth, NE, Sharon Patenaude of Plattsmouth, NE, Richard (Connie) Clark and Susie (Joel) Biggs of Glenwood, IA., also survived by good family friend Debbie Rumba of Omaha, NE. Ralph grew up in the Plattsmouth area and graduated from Plattsmouth High School with the Class of 1969. After graduation he joined the US Marine Corp and served during the Vietnam War. He later was called back into service with the Army during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. On November 21, 1970 he married Catherine L. Clark at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Plattsmouth, NE After his first tour of duty he went to work for Nebraska Public Power District becoming a journeyman lineman and later on as a line foreman working for 17 years. He was a member of Post 2543 Lepert-Wolever and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Private family services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery – Plattsmouth, NE with the Marine Corp providing the honor guard.
