Rebecca "Becky" K. Welstead, age 51 of Union, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, July 17th, 2025.  Born on April 23rd, 1974, in Omaha, Nebraska,

Becky lived a life filled with love, joy, and a deep dedication to those around her. She was a proud graduate of Conestoga High School in 1992. A Certified Nursing Assistant by profession, Becky also devoted herself to in-home child care, where she embraced her role as a nurturing caregiver with warmth and compassion. Her family meant the world to her, and she was ever the devoted mom and wife.

Becky had a long journey with Cystic Fibrosis, thirteen years ago, she was given the gift of life by a selfless act from the family of her lung donor Gary Baker. Thank you Tammy. Mike and the girls will forever appreciate your decision. Since that time, Becky has been deeply involved in her community and held a passionate commitment to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, including serving on The Nebraska Adult Cystic Fibrosis Patient Advisory Council.  Her love for the great outdoors led her to enjoy camping, gardening, and spending cherished family time at the beach, lake, and boating. She found joy in crafting and cherished her Jeep adventures.

Becky is survived by her loving husband, Mike Welstead, daughters Lacie and Hanna Welstead, mom Billie Hermsen siblings Elizabeth Raumaker, Paul (Ramey) Hermsen, birth mother Margie Johnson and step-sister Kim (Curtis) Brady.  She also leaves behind her in-laws Jim & Ruth Welstead, sisters-in-law, Teri Taylor, Chloe (Justin) Hines and brother-in-law, Jeff (Lynn) Deline, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews. She also leaves behind an abundance of cherished friends and her fur babies Poopy and Rosie.

Becky was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Hermsen Jr. and her aunt and uncle, Donna and Raymond Boren.

A visitation will be held at Brian P. Harvey Funeral Home in Plattsmouth, NE, on Thursday, July 24th, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with family greeting friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.   A funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Community Church in Plattsmouth, NE, on Friday, July 25th, 2025, at 10:30 am with Pastor Harald Rappold officiating.   Burial will take place at the East Union Cemetery.

The family kindly requests that donations be made to the CF Foundation or Live On Nebraska, organizations that held a special place in Becky's heart.
