Richard D. “Rich” Bruggeman age 62 of Plattsmouth, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at his home in Plattsmouth.  He was born on October 2, 1959 at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, South Dakota to Lowell Q. and Audrey M. (Peterson) Bruggeman.

As Rich was growing up, the family lived in various places during Lowell’s time in the Air Force.  They eventually made their home in Plattsmouth where Rich graduated with the PHS class of 1978.  He enlisted in the United States Army in 1981 and faithfully served his country for two years as a decorated military policeman.

Rich worked for Plattsmouth Community Schools for 23 years as a custodian at Plattsmouth High School.  He was a dedicated hard worker, enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews, and a very good artist.

Rich is survived by his brother, Robert (Debra) Bruggeman of Mesquite, NV, sisters, Carla (John) Adsit of Weeping Water, NE, Carol (Russel) Stoll of Plattsmouth, nieces and nephews, Kurt Bruggeman, Arthur Bruggeman, Kyle Bruggeman, Jeff Adsit, Lita Perrigo, Lane Adsit, Shelbie Dworak, Erin Stoll and Nicole Stoll, aunt, Willa McNally of Seattle, WA, and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell & Audrey Bruggeman, sister, Leslie Ann Bruggeman and great nephew, Dakota Adsit.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 10:00 AM at First Lutheran Church in Plattsmouth, NE with Rev. Ryan Maser officiating.

Visitation with family greeting friends will be Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to the Plattsmouth Education Foundation.
