Richard Eugene Owens, Jr. was born on August 21, 1956, at Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio, Texas, to Richard Eugene Owens, Sr. and Norma Jean Hutchins Owens. He passed away on April 5, 2024, at the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 67 years, 7 months and 15 days. He is survived by his father, Richard E. Owens, Sr. of Plattsmouth, NE; sister Kathy Owens Stepp of Fayetteville, AR; sister April June Perryman of Broken Arrow, OK; brother, Marvin Raymond Lowry of Springfield, MO, Richard P. Owens and wife Brenda of Fredericksburg, VA, Angelia M. Sawyers and husband Dennis of Longville, MN, Sherri L. Rieke and husband Roger of Bellevue, NE, Shelia M. Tschirren and husband Jim of Plattsmouth, NE. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his Granny, Francis Louis Lawson; mother, Norma Jean Hutchins Owens, stepmother, Judy Ann Owens; brother-in-law, Johnny Stepp. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth, Nebraska with Pastor Steve Hicks officiating.
