Rickie Allen Adkins, age 67, of Plattsmouth passed away on December 28, 2025, in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Born on May 31, 1958, in Hamburg, Iowa to John and Barbara (Thompson) Adkins.

Rickie dedicated a significant portion of his life to hard work, skillfully engaged in concrete work and tree trimming. He was especially well-known amongst neighbors for raising chickens and selling fresh eggs. His deep appreciation for the outdoors was evident in his fondness for fishing along the Missouri River, where he frequently took his boat to enjoy tranquil days on the water.

In his younger years, Rickie was a talented wrestler during his high school days, achieving notable success in the sport. His love for nature extended beyond fishing, as he was an avid mushroom hunter and often took it upon himself to nurture injured animals, occasionally bringing home baby squirrels to nurse back to health. Rickie also had a keen interest in collecting antiques.

Rickie is survived by his son, Allen Cadotte, father, John Adkins, brothers, Randy Adkins and Rodney Adkins. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara.
