Robert E. McPeek, age 68, of Beaver Lake, Nebraska, passed away on July 3, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Born on April 9, 1956, at Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico, the son of Edna L. (Duck) McPeek
Robert’s family eventually settled in Mississippi, where he graduated from East Central High School in Hurley, Mississippi, in 1974. On August 30, 1974, he married the love of his life, Pamela Lee Dickerson, in Jackson County, Mississippi. Together, they raised two wonderful children, April and Michael, and also lovingly helped raise Pam’s brother, Clay.
Robert dedicated 25 years of his career as a Senior Facilities Manager with Cushman & Wakefield at ConAgra in Omaha, Nebraska. He was known for his exceptional work ethic and commitment to his job, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
Family was the cornerstone of Robert's life. As the patriarch, he cherished every moment spent on family vacations, creating lasting memories. He had a remarkable ability to make each person feel special with his kindness, gentleness, and generosity. Known for his great sense of humor and quick wit, Robert could always bring a smile to those around him.
A faithful member of First Baptist Church in Plattsmouth, Robert served his congregation with devotion. He taught Sunday School for more than 20 years, served as the church treasurer, and was a deacon. His faith journey also included serving as a youth pastor in Mississippi before moving to Nebraska.
Robert had a passion for fishing and playing golf, hobbies that brought him joy and relaxation.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Pam McPeek of Beaver Lake, NE, children, April (Chris) Earith of Beaver Lake, NE, Michael (Liz) McPeek of Murray, NE, brother-in-law, Clay (Tracie) Dickerson and their children, Caleb, Aubrey, Alyssa and Duane of Plattsmouth, NE, grandchildren, Brianna (Mike) Reecie (Hadyn), Sydney (Kobe) Reagan, Noah and Nathan, great grandchildren, Marley and Mavis, his siblings, Johnny (Ida) of Big Point, MS, Duane (Missy) McPeek of Biloxi, MS and Mary (Joel) Rockhold of Mobile, AL. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Edna McPeek and sister, Jeanne Ellington.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Plattsmouth, NE with Rev. Raymond Wicks officiating.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with family greeting friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at First Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Mt Pleasant Cemetery in Nehawka, Nebraska.
Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist School Athletics.
