Roger Grant Roberts, age 80, of Weeping Water, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska, surrounded by the family he cherished. He was born September 16, 1945, in Pensacola, Florida, the only child of Grant and Dorothea (Fulton) Roberts. He grew up in Plattsmouth and graduated from Plattsmouth High School in 1963 and attended Nebraska Wesleyan University.
Roger's story was filled with memorable chapters, but none more defining than the one he shared with his wife, Vicky. The two first met at the age of five, forming a childhood connection that would later grow into a lifelong love. They reunited as young adults, rekindling what had begun so many years before, and were married on September 16, 1979, at the Methodist Church in Plattsmouth.
A true entrepreneur at heart, Roger invested his energy and talents into many endeavors over the years. He owned and operated Elliott-Roberts Chevy/Oldsmobile in Plattsmouth. His passion for the outdoors guided him into the Shooting Sports industry, where he served as a representative helping and advising hunters from all over the world for more than four decades. His travels took him to Alaska and Africa, places where mountains called to him and adventure always waited just over the next ridge.
Roger's love of the open road extended beyond hunting grounds. An avid motorcycle enthusiast, he shared countless miles and memories with close friends, including an unforgettable journey to Alaska by motorcycle-a testament to his spirit of exploration and his belief that life was meant to be fully experienced.
He also shared a successful partnership with dear friends Charlie and Betty Maze, investing in farmland throughout the area where they raised both crops and cattle. Whether in business, friendship, or family, Roger believed in working hard, dreaming big, and honoring commitments.
Music was another thread woven throughout Roger's life. From the age of five until his final days, he found joy in singing and playing for those he loved. His talent, paired with his generous heart, made music not just a hobby but a gift he shared freely.
He was an NRA Endowment Member, Chairman of the Nebraska Game and Parks Crime Stoppers Organization, and a member of Home Chapter #189 Order of the Eastern Star as well as Plattsmouth Masonic Lodge #6.
Roger is survived by his beloved wife, Vicky Roberts; his children, Bradley S. (Traci) Krauth, Stacy L. (Jackie Brake) Krauth, Bryna (Michael) Sisk, and Jared R. (Cory) Roberts; daughter-in-law, Chandra Roberts; grandchildren, Garrett and Hayden Krauth, Matthew and Travis Wentz, Ben and Jacob Larsen, Rowan Sisk, and Grant, Logan, and Mason Roberts; and his aunt, Annita Fulton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will carry his memory forward.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Dorothea Roberts; his son, Daniel Roberts; his uncle, Jerry Fulton; and his aunt, Mary Lou Hendersen.
