Sammie Kay Choate

Sammie Kay Choate was born on February 1, 1947 in Frederick, Oklahoma to Lawton and Sammie (Young) Choate.  She passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Nebraska City, Nebraska at the age of 67 years, 2 months and 2 days.  Kay was raised and attended school in Oklahoma.  After High School, she obtained an Associates Degree in Business from Western Oklahoma State College.  She worked for American National Bank for many years.   She enjoyed spending time with her dogs, Holly and Lacey, watching NASCAR specifically Tony Stewart, watching John Wayne movies, working on crafts and Crocheting.  Her greatest love was the time she was able to spend with her granddaughters and watching them play soccer.  She is survived by her Son:  Steve “Okie” Bennett and friend Betty Yanak of Plattsmouth, NE;   Grandchildren: Brittney & Brandi Bennett of Plattsmouth, NE:  Daughter-in-law:  Gina Bennett of Glenwood, IA  Brother:  Gaylen and wife Linda Choate of Enid, OK;  Sisters:  Paula Elliot of Liberal, KS;  Connie Nichols of Temple, TX.  Also survived by numerous Nieces and Nephews.  Preceded in Death by:  Parents; Nephew: Shane Choate  Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Harvey Funeral Home, Plattsmouth, Nebraska  Visitation will be on Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with family greeting friend from 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home.  Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.  Brian P.
