Sherrie Lynn Coen, age 72 of Omaha, NE passed away on Sunday, January 12th, 2025 at CHI Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, NE. Sherrie was born February 28th, 1952, in Mexico, Missouri, to  Rex and Mary Ellen (Woster) Coen.

Sherrie attended Plattsmouth High School, where she graduated in the class of 1970. During her school years, she was actively involved in numerous activities, including Job’s Daughters, playing the clarinet in the high school band, and participating in Powder Puff football. Sherrie was proud to have received the President's Physical Fitness Award as a freshman and was a Princess for the Kass Kounty King Korn Karnival in 1971. Her career journey saw her make contributions at several organizations as an Office Manager, including Zaiss Marketing, Mutual of Omaha, and the Dodds-Davis Group. Sherrie's passions extended beyond her work; she was an avid reader and pianist who found joy in the beauty of flowers and gardening. Her love for animals, especially cats, was evident in her commitment to rescuing feline friends in need.

She is survived by her brother, Michael (Shelia) Coen of Plattsmouth, NE; her sister, Tina (Steven) Shogrin of Council Bluffs, IA; nephews, Matt, Jeremy (Layni), and Tim (Amanda) Coen, and Dexter Shogrin; great-nephew Issac Zoucha; and her Aunt Doris Coen of St. Joseph, MO, along with numerous cousins, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Sherrie was preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Mary Ellen Coen, and her grandparents, Tim and Rose Woster, and Charles and Irma Coen.

A visitation will be held at Brian P. Harvey Funeral Home in Plattsmouth, NE, on Friday, January 17th, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with the family greeting friends.  The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 18th, 2025, at 10:00 am, also at funeral home.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery followed immediately by a luncheon at the First United Methodist Church located at 702 Main Street, Plattsmouth.

Donations can be made to the Nebraska Humane Society, a testament to Sherrie's enduring love for animals.
