Shirley Ann Pierce

Shirley Ann Pierce, 84, of Plattsmouth, passed away on May 17, 2024, at Hillcrest Health and Rehab in Bellevue, NE. She was born December 16, 1939, in Terre Haute, Indiana.

On August 30, 1969, Shirley married Sammy Kay Pierce, at the United Methodist Church in Plattsmouth.

Shirley was a devoted homemaker and very involved with her community and church. She was a longtime member of the Church of the Holy Spirit, an active participant in the Catholic Daughters organization, sang in the church choir and was a member of the Plattsmouth Band Parents Association. Shirley was also an avid Nebraska Husker Football Fan.

Shirley's legacy of love and devotion to her family, her church, and her community will be remembered and greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children: Christine (Ernie) DeSimone of Plattsmouth, NE; Kelly Edholm of Zephyrhills, FL; and Suzanne Pierce, grandchildren, Brett (Beka) Edholm, Blair Edholm, Sydney (Kenny) Maclure, Jacob Pierce, Andrea (Mike) King, and Connor DeSimone, great -grandchildren to Lily Edholm, Madeline Edholm, Caroline Maclure, Blake LeBuff, Luca King, Oliver Maclure, and Isla King.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Sammy, daughter Andrea Prather, and her grandson Blake Edholm.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth, officiated by Father Timmerman. A burial will follow at the Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Plattsmouth. Visitation will take place on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 1-5 PM at the Harvey Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from  6-7 PM at the Church of the Holy Spirit, followed by a Rosary, beginning at 7:00 PM.

Memorials are suggested to the Church of the Holy Spirit or St. John the Baptist School.
