Vanessa J Lucas

Vanessa J. Lucas was born on December 19, 1955 in Weisbaden, Germany to Joseph and Joyce (Gatrost) Arcishewsky. She passed away on Friday, January 13, 2012 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska at the age of 56 years, 25 days. She was united in marriage on June 28, 1975 to Roy Edward Lucas in Omaha, Nebraska and together they raised one son, Wade. Vanessa was a caring, funny and motherly individual. When Wade was younger, she enjoyed time following him to various activities. She also enjoyed watching T.V. (especially the soap opera The Young and the Restless), working on her computer, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Ed Lucas, Plattsmouth; son, Wade (Elizabeth) Lucas, Lincoln; Grandchildren, Emma, Kaitlyn, Madelaine, Jackson; Father, Joseph Arcishewsky, Omaha; mother-in-law, Patricia Lucas, Omaha; brother, Joseph A (Patty) Arcishewsky, Omaha; brothers-in-law, Nick (Meridee) Lucas, Plattsmouth; Terry (Sammie) Lucas, Omaha; sister-in-law, Frances (Michael) Kinney, Omaha. Also survived by nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Arcishewsky, father-in-law, Walter Lucas and her beloved Lucy. Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Peggy Hall officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 16, 2012 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha, NE In Lieu of Flowers Memorials may be directed to the Lucas Family for designation to the local fire departments or Cavett Elementary School.
