William "Bill" E Taylor

William E. Taylor was born on December 8, 1943 in Joppa, Illinois to Lafe and Neva (Christmas) Taylor. He passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at the Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, Nebraska at the age of 69 years. 11 months and 13 days. After graduating from Joppa High School, Bill enlisted in the United States Air Force. He met and married Linda Shaw on May 23, 1965 in Logansport, Indiana. Bill’s last duty station brought the family to Nebraska, where he retired as a Master Sergeant. After retirement from the Military, he worked for the Nebraska Department of Labor as a Manager of Work Place Safety Programs and also for Conestoga Schools as a custodian. Bill was a former member of the Murray Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed, hunting, fishing and helping the people in his neighborhood with various projects. He was a people person and it is said, that he “never knew a stranger.” Bill would always be the first to volunteer to help someone in need, but rarely would ask for help. His greatest joy was the time he was able to spend with this family and attending the various activities of his grandchildren. He is survived by his Wife: Linda Taylor of Murray, NE; Children: Michelle (Todd) Sievers of Lincoln, NE; Billie Taylor of Omaha, NE; Brett (Cheri) of Glenwood, IA; 7 Grandchildren: Jeremiah, Jacob and Austin Sievers; Dakota & Conner Taylor; Brooklyn & Brody Taylor. Sister: Eileen Jaynes of Imperial, MO; Sisters-in-law: Marcia Little & Marie Little both of Joppa, IL. He was preceded in death by his Parents and Brothers: James “Cork” Little and Paul Little Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel in Plattsmouth, Nebraska with Rev. Larry Hammons officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 25, 2013 from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
