William E. Nelson

William E. Nelson, CMSgt (Ret) USAF was born on June 3, 1938 in Knox Township, Illinois to Elwood Raymond & Stella May (Pruett) Nelson. He passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 75 years, 1 month and 23 days. After High School, he entered the United States Air Force serving from 1956 until retiring as Chief Master Sergeant in 1981. Following retirement he worked as a Meteorologist for many years. He was united in marriage to Karen Kay Henderson on May 5, 1957 in Knox County, Illinois and together they raised 7 children, Tami, Lesa, Lori, Bill, Susan, Sherri and Rick. He is survived by his Wife: Karen Nelson; Children: Tami Miller, Lesa (Alan) Hanke, Lori Brandenburg, Bill (Loretta) Nelson, Susan (Kevin) Schreiner, Sherri (Larry) Troshynski, Rick (Kim) Nelson. 18 Granchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren. 2 Sisters: Betty Stutter, Shirley Kelso; 2 Brothers: Raymond & Jackie Nelson. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Elwood & Stella Mae Nelson Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30th with family greeting friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment with full military honors will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Memorials in lieu of flowers to the Wounded Warriors or Open Door Mission. Brian P.
