William F. Schroeder

William Frederick Schroeder was born on September 7, 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska to Frederick and Mae (Fairbrass) Schroeder. He passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at his home in Mynard, Nebraska at the age of 86 years, 3 months and 20 days. After completing school, Bill was drafted in the U.S. Army, serving during World War II in the Army of Occupation. On July 29, 1951, he was united in marriage to Deloris Rozell in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. As a young married couple, they made their home on a farm west of Plattsmouth where they raised Edward, Rodney and Randy. His love of the land was a driving force in his 30+ years as a farmer. After retirement, Bill and Deloris traveled around the country volunteering for Mission Builders and Builders for Christ helping build churches. Bill is a member of the First Lutheran Church where he was an Elder; Midstates Tractor Club; a volunteer for Open Hearts Kitchen and Lepert-Wolever Post 2547 VFW. He is survived by his Wife – Deloris Schroeder of Plattsmouth, NE; Children – Edward William (Pam) of Blair, NE; Rodney Lee (Karen) of Humboldt, IA; Randall Gene (Kris) of Plattsmouth, NE; 11 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren; Brother – Fred Schroeder of Bellevue, NE; Sister – Doris Fetherkile of Union, NE He was preceded in Death by his Parents; Son – Mark Allen; 3 brothers and 1 sister. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Lutheran Church in Plattsmouth with Rev. Lloyd Stuhr officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, December 29th from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with family present to greet friends at the First Lutheran Church in Plattsmouth, NE Interment will be in the Immanuel Cemetery in Rural Louisville, NE. Memorials may be directed to the First Lutheran Church or Open Hearts Kitchen, Plattsmouth, NE Arrangements by Harvey Funeral Home, Plattsmouth, NE 402-296-4445
