Patricia Baburek

Patricia Bobbette Baburek was born September 25, 1929 in Union, Nebraska to Roy D. and Ireta M. (Henry) Wood. She passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 13 days. Pat was married to Paul A. Baburek on February 26, 1949 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. To this union were born 3 children Steve, Dixie and Linda. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth. Pat and her husband owned and operated Baburek Metal Preservation Company in Plattsmouth, NE. Along with her business ownership she took pride in her civic responsibilities which included being a City Councilwoman and an active member of the Plattsmouth Chamber of Commerce, League of Cities and Nebraska Travel and Tourism Board. She was also a Lady of the Realm holding many offices in the Kass Kounty King Korn Karnival Klub. She was a long time member of numerous local organizations including the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Toastmaster International, American Business Women’s Association, March of Dimes and was a Girl and Boy Scout Leader. She is survived by her Son: Steve Baburek of Plattsmouth; Daughters: Dixie Greenberg and husband Bob Bahde of Papillion, NE Linda (Brian) Ruisinger of Scottsdale, AZ; Numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; Sister: Doris Regner of Ashland, NE; Brother-in-law John (Juanita) Baburek of Plattsmouth, NE; Sister-in-law Martha Baburek of Omaha, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, brother Amel Wood and a half sister Juanita Larsen. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth, NE with Father Tom Au officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from 3 P.M. until 6:30 P.M. with family greeting friends from 5 – 6:30 P.M.
